Any yank excited over this win needs to calm yourself. Flanagan is similar to Wilder in that he has an impressive record but scratch under the surface and you can see it is built on fighting poor opposition. Nobody apart from hard-core fans even know who he is. There are much better uk fighters than him and nobody rated him even before this fight.

Compare that to Hearn who went and put Okolie in with Chamberlain and has another fighter in Buatsi who seems to be desperate to fight Yarde (which won't due to Warren obviously).
Dunno why I can't rep you, don't understand this but I fully agree. Also think Gorman is being cute as he just raised his level on sat night and this is prime time for him to take DD as Warrens careful matchmaking has DD not progressing as fast as he could be.

He was doing my head in this week talking about emulating Ricky Hatton. Flanagan, winning a vacant against someone noone knew... comparing to Hatton taking Tsyu lol

See what happens, is that in America, like all countries do...we have different classes of fighters. So you get guys like Flanagan in whom a promoter will heavily invest, feeding him easy fights of foreign opponents coming over for a check.

So then guys like this start thinking they are the **** and that because someone is from a certain country they are just hyped up...then get their a$$ kicked in the ring.

You see, American fighters STAY smashing on UK fighters. Sure we will allow some of our D level fighters to come and get paid by getting in the ring with your B level fighters...but trust me when there is a belt on the line...well,you already know. USA runs boxing.
You should look at the results between the two nations to see we beat you most of the time. So puffing out your chest over this win is foolish. But then again, you aren't ever able to control your massive egos. That's why most people like to see Americans lose.

Beer wise.. probably Greene king or john Smith's as that's what served in the majority of pubs on tap

I'd say the most drank in the country is either Stella or fosters
Thanks for the insight. I do like Stella and Fosters. I will try to see if I can get my hands on Greene King , John Smith or San Miguel .

I actually agree with that part and I probably wouldn't make the fight in their next couple times out either. However, to make it sound like the fight is years off is ridiculous. This should be Frank's Joshua/Whyte, build both guys up to the top tier of British level and then have them go at it for the winner to advance to world level and build the loser back up to that point. Instead he's going to dance them around each other in hopes of having them meet for a world title shot at some point by fighting WBO Euro bums like Yarde
Whyte was not with Matchroom when he fought Joshua, he just gained popularity after that fight and signed with them. Whyte was set up to lose in that fight, he was injured, and Hearn and Joshua knew it. They knew Whyte wasn't fit enough at that time to go 12 rounds.

No, I get that part, (not sure I buy AJ/Hearn knowing the extent of Whyte's injury, thought he got hurt in the fight) I just mean that Warren can use that as a template and put these guys on a similar trajectory, but he would rather them both try to take the easiest path to the top in hopes that they won't slip up and meet at the summit.

No they definitely knew Whyte was injured, I'm sure Hearn confirmed this in an interview, and Whyte knew that they knew. The already injured shoulder went in the second round, and Whyte had to have injections to fight.... which Hearn and Joshua would have been notified of.

To the other point, Warren has already said he would like Dubois and Gorman to fight for the British title, but Dubois is not old enough until September. I'd expect that fight by the end of this year.... he's already had them on the same show and the fight is building all the time.

See, I think that WAS Warren's plan to have them fight for the British title in the near future, but I think that last performance by Gorman has changed his mind. I think he'll set them on different paths now because he believes (as do I now) that Gorman's ceiling is above British level and Frank loves to shield his guys from tough fights to keep their 0's. I'm guessing one of them will go the British route while the other will go hunting WBO baubles. If either gets a world title, I'm willing to bet he'll line up the other as their first title defense and really there's nothing wrong with that. The problem to me is, I'm betting neither is going to get tested a whole lot on the way up now. Hope I'm wrong and Fish Eyes does challenge, we will see.

Yeah they 100% knew Dillian was injured. Joshua even mentioned it to him at the weigh in, said something like "how's your shoulder". He wasted taken to the slaughterhouse and fed to AJ. It was only because he buzzed him and came across as a marketable guy that he got signed.

The Okolie Chamberlain fight isn't really the same as Gorman v Dubois I don't think. Chamberlain was never a lead guy for Hearn, just a filler. Okolie is being pushed hard and he knew he'd win, and wanted him to win. Hearn wouldn't put a rising prospect in a really tough fight with one of his other top prospects, he always has an angle on who he wants to win, and there's always a disposable guy. The fights like Buglioni v Burton / Johnson it doesn't really matter who wins as they aren't too prospects or potential PPV fighters.

I think Gorman and Dubois have good potential, maybe Gorman even more. Hes got very nice skills, good speed, nice punch selection and fighting genes though his family. Dubois has got the power and hype but he's still a baby and will need slow progression to hone his skills.

I wouldn't expect them to fight soon, I'd expect to see Gorman progress a bit quicker and a few more risks being taken with him.
