Comments Thread For: Warren: Tyson Fury Must Lose More Weight Before August Fight

Frank Warren, the promoter of former world champion Tyson Fury (26-0, 19 KOs), says the boxer must shed off more weight before he returns on August 18th, as part of Carl Frampton's undercard at Windsor Park in Belfast. Fury returned on Saturday night in Manchester, and picked up a fourth round TKO victory over Sefer Seferi.

Oh, you did .. Seferi ... undefeated fighter with amazing knock out percentage who has only been beaten by current world champion (That's Charr with a regular belt if you're wondering).

Should have just said it was a warm up fight from the get go and people would have given Fury for the long slack only thing that saved you was no one believed you and saw it for what it was ... and stop mentioning Wilder, AJ etc etc he's no where near them at the minute. Furys timing looked horrible, he needs a couple of easys against some big heavyweight that can take a punch and aren't too dangerous.

The Frampton undercard was probably a sensible spot.

Fury and Seferi went on the ferris wheel and shared an ice cream cone after the fight.

yeah, he was still 20 stone as well. It'll also take his skin a while to tighten up after being stretched by his belly. Probably won't look ripped up for a good few months and he was never really a ripped kinda guy anyway.

I heard Seferi went on it and Tyson stood at the side and span it round. All was well until he asked Seferi ate all the candy floss without sharing.

In reality fury needs to sharpen up both mentally and physically. No talk of needing rounds, he needs to face an opponent that he needs to get rid of as soon as possible. Amor Khan showed the way to deal with a warm up fight. It's more important to show mental strength, intense focus, aggression and an overwhelming desire to get the job done than it is to posture around the ring as if it's all a big joke.

That joke will be on Tyson as soon as he faces a live body unless he gets his focus back.

... Fury looked awfully at the weigh-in... OK, he has muscular legs, but the waist fat looked awfull (especially from behind)...

I think they shouldn't let losing the weight get in the way of his boxing training, he needs to focus on his reflexes, basics and getting used to getting hit again and for that he has to focus almost entirely on classic boxing training so bag, mitts and sparring sparring sparring, if he does that not only will he get a lot sharper but he'll also lose some lbs naturally. He won't get a 6pack but he can easily drop 10-15 lbs in the 8 week camp with a good diet.

nothing worse than weight loss camps, you feel drained in the fight and the fast weight loss can affect the chin, BOXING should be the focus, not weight or looks rights now.
