Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Tyson Fury Will Step Up Each Time Out

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury declared himself completely happy with his four-round comeback win on Saturday night, despite a lack of action. Fury only got going in the fourth round and his brief exhibition of power convinced Sefer Seferi's corner to pull out the Switzerland-based Albanian before the start of the fifth round.Fury, 29, did not take his task totally seriously early on and was told

Translation : Fury will be fighting bums for some time to come. We have no intention of matching him against someone with a pulse.

Still had that hand speed but looked much, much different from that Fury of old. Hoping he doesn't get bored too quick.

He obviously needs time to get back match fit, and it's the right thing to do. He's still 20 stone and is 6 months on from being 27 stone, clinically depressed and about to commit suicide. A few warm up fights is exactly right.

He'll have a nice fight in August where I reckon he'll sit around 19 stone, against another nobody but a bigger heavyweight. Then he'll might have 1 more against someone ranked fairly low before going for Manuel Charrs WBA 'title' end of the year / early next year.

Next year he'll have a title and be ready for the big boys.

This is the correct way to bring him back from nearly 3 years out, not from going with Hearn who wanted one warm up then to cash him out with a PPV fight with Whyte, Bellew or Joshua.

If I go by the Frank Warren playbook then we wouldn’t even see Fury in any competitive fights for a while.

I pretty much agree with this. The important thing is to not only give him a few soft touches, but keep him active as well. Barring injury he should have a minimum of At least two more fights before the end of the year. His last fight was a cruiserweight bum no one has ever heard of, his next fight should now be a heavyweight bum no one has heard of. After that, a washed up fighter with a decent name like briggs, thompson or arreola. Then a fighter that isnt a total pushover but still minimally regarded (charr, wach, washington) then a lower level top tenish fighter like takam or bellew. By the end of next year challenge either wilder or joshua or whoever is top dog by then for a super fight.

He needs to knock off the rust and get in better shape before taking on the top heavyweights.

I have no problem with him lining up a few more soft touches.

Ha ha ha: I was about to post:

Translation: he is running out of money and we see that the hw division is getting hot. We put our heads together and figured that we could line up a massive fight after knocking off a few no names.

Fury is garbage. Dubois is far better. Whyte would destroy him. He may get by Bellew, who will entertain the match as a payday

Be realistic. Whyte couldnt destroy old man Chisora, or Helenius who had 5 days training for the fight.
