Comments Thread For: Manager: If Not Canelo, Jacobs Will Fight Derevyanchenko Next

Sharing a trainer won't prevent Daniel Jacobs and Sergiy Derevyanchenko from fighting for the vacant IBF middleweight title. Keith Connolly, who manages Jacobs and Derevyanchenko, told BoxingScene.com on Friday that both boxers and trainer Andre Rozier are on board with possibly battling each other next. Connolly said that if Jacobs can't secure a much higher-profile fight against Canelo Alvarez within the next few days, Jacobs will move forward with a fight against Derevyanchenko.

That would happen in a perfect world so it will likely not happen.

I'd like to see that fight. They both have links to Golovkin and if Danny wins he will be in a good position. Pulling for Jacobs in this one but OK with a win by either guy.

Good opportunity for Jacobs and Derevyanchenko.

I hope GGG will be stripped of WBC belt too. That would be a good opportunity for Charlo.

It was very bad when ggg focused only on Canelo. Because Canelo fights only twice in a year. That's why ggg couldn't defend his titles against other good opposition.

But Vanes fight was nonsence, what I still can't understand. He could fight Derevyanchenko instead.

Sounds like must watch TV to me.

I'd favor Jacobs but admittedly I know very little about D-Chenko

Make it happen. The cheater will probably fight Lemieux or O'Sullivan.

Why wont it be Canelo??? Is GGG fighting Spike O' Sullivan instead? Or doing a rematch with Vanes now that he's no longer retired and now has experience at MW!

Nope! Those are fighters Oscar is negotiating with GGG for 50/50.

                    While Canelo fights Jacobs.

I kind of think GGG fans want to see a rematch with Vanes. You know since it was tied up or Vanes was slightly winning until GGG got him with a "Lucky Punch".

P@ctards used that excuse before so why not GGGTards...
