What boxers are promoted properly? I think a lot of you guys on here seriously over-estimate the popularity of the sport here in the US.
Terrance Crawford not being promoted properly?

The ESPN+ thing is bad IMO. Casual fans won't go out of the way to subscribe to watch this fight but likely would have got similar numbers to Loma on regular ESPN. Bud was drawing slightly better ratings than Bud until the Rigo and Linares fights. They had an opportunity here to showcase him with a guy known for getting a win over Pacquaio with an audience of (I could be wrong) 4m or so.
When Arum talks about Bud he says the right things. "Dominant guy of this era", "modern day Leonard" etc; but it seems he's not going out of his way and I think Crawford's personality needs that. He's a low profile, quiet good family man who likes fishing and lives in Omaha and he's not the most charismatic guy. His management did well getting him on First Take and the NBA all-star celeb game but they need to push him in more peoples faces because ultimately the more people who see him will tune in because he's a great fighter and the word will spread. People like to see greatness but not necessarily search to find it. They want to be told and then they'll watch. Any additional effort to the casual casual fans won't happen.
Loma gets more exposure because he's better marketed. I do believe Arum is pushing him more and Egis Klimas gets the business and knows what he has so he keeps Loma's name out there. I think he deserves more credit than TR who basically haven't done a kick-off press conference for any of his or Bud's last few fights.Comment

Yeah, less holding Bud rarely breaks the fight; he always boxes.
But Bud has been boring and fighting like a computer lately, I guess his oppo at 140 never made him bring his A complete game, he could beat them to death just using the same 2 punches for 36 minutes.
I hope Horn makes him fight a deep fight.
Bud vs Gamboa was a classic.Comment

It's almost as if Arum doesn't want the world to see Crawford starch the guy who got a win over his former cash cow, Pac.Comment

similar bland personality, sure.
But I think that crawford is more exciting in the ring. Better power and he doesnt spoil and foul his way to a win like ward.Comment

I'm pissed he's fighting on the app. And they made him fight a unification on PPV. Crawford & Horn had two of the highest rated shows on ESPN. Why are they on the app? And let's talk about Crawford's inactivity. He hasn't fought in 10 months and they throw him on the app. And dont forget this was originally scheduled for ESPN PPV. Crawford is the guinea pig for Top RankComment

If Arum and Top Rank were smart, they would have this streamed on the ESPN YouTube page like how Showtime does for some of their fights. YouTube would reach a much wider audience. People are at least familiar with it.Comment
