Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Manager: Whyte Never Wanted To Fight Us, Too Risky

During the week, there were widespread inaccurate reports regarding deals being completed for two heavyweight contests - Luis Ortiz vs. Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker vs. Bryant Jennings. BoxingScene.com reported on Wednesday that neither bout was likely, because Parker was the frontrunner to fight Whyte.

"Luis will be in better condition for a rematch"

Ortiz isn't getting any younger. And given that Ortiz will be fighting for "second mandatory position" it'll be a long time before he gets in the ring with Wilder again, if ever.

Sad to say, but his chances of being Cuba's first HW world champ are done

Whyte's going to lose to Parker anyway, but at least it won't be an embarrassing KO like it would be if he got into the ring with Ortiz. Parker vs Ortiz would be a much more interesting fight.

They need to quit with the rigged 7th round & saving Wilder garbage. Wilder was robbed of a knockdown in the early rounds.
If they fight again, Ortiz goes to sleep albeit without the muddied perception that he “won the fight”.
Ridiculous especially given that Wilder didn’t have to fight him in the first place

Dude, you just got stopped in your previous fight. I get that you're not getting any younger, but please stop acting like people are ducking you.

You got knocked out by whom most would argue is the least skilled HW champ in recent history, and now you're "too risky" for everyone else!? Stop. I get it, but stop.
