How did Derevyanchenko become IBF Mando fighting a 22-22 guy?

    Derevyanchenko Boxrec: http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/691996

Derevyanchenko's last fight was against Dashon Johnson, the guy had 22 wins and 22 losses. How did he become a Mando beating a guy like that?

This was boxing politics, and GGG was robbed by the IBF, imo.

Those claiming Derevyanchenko deserves his shot, which he probably might, but how the hell is he Mando after beating this guy?

The real question is: how can anyone think GGG would have problems beating him?

True. Another mystery is how the IBF came up with Ocampo as a mando for Spence. Ocampo's fought nobody, has never fought outside Mexico and the fight with Spence will be his first time going 12 rounds.

havent you get the memo? derevyencko is suddenly some killer. everyone was going to give golovkin tonnes of credit if he beat him and say they were wrong about him. they rate this guy so so highly, so much so that its now considered a cowards move to fight canelo ( a p4p level fighter) instead of sergey

The IBF is an embarrassment to the sport.

GGG should have just fought him in May instead of Vanes. I agree that Sergey isnt on GGG's level but we wouldnt even be having this discussion had Gennady just taken care of him already.

This whole mess was created by canelo failing his test, but GGG has made alot of bad decisions that has led to not getting the rematch with canelo and getting stripped by the ibf.

I'm not sure how you've been a boxing fan & missed out on this, but these ABC Groups are corrupt.

But yea preaching to the choir with most of this, but I do think Derevyanchenko earned his spot more than most mando's with the Johnson fight & that last W over Conor McGregor's sparring partner was merely a stay busy fight as he waits on his mando title opportunity. I mean that last fight was only an 8 rounder which should say everything about the seriousness of that fight.

Still, he was a better opponent than retired Vanes jumping off the couch to be slaughtered. GGG could've fought this guy and kept his belt.
