It may seem silly to you, but its actually a better system. Mandatory spots are EARNED and not just given. The system is less prone to corruption than where a guy like Suiliman or Mendoza just says "ok so-and-so is now the #1 contender"

To get a #1 or #2 ranking in the IBF, you must beat another contender ranked in the top 10 rankings. As of yet, neither Jacobs or Charlo have done so, which is why they are at #3 and #4.

thats not what im saying at all. The truth is that GGG is responsible for this problem. Im a huge fan of his, but that doesnt change the facts. He has wasted the past 18 months allowing Golden Boy to play game after game after game in regards to Canelo. And then when Canelo pissed hot, instead of postponing the may 5 date and dong his mando, he takes a layup with Vanes. And now instead of doing the derev mando, he is again playing cat and mouse with Canelo. So the IBF was correct in stripping him

And if you actually READ the IBF rulebook, instead of just assuming you know what it says, a request for unification MUST be submitted prior to the mandatory defense being ordered. That didnt happen. GGG has NEVER requested an exception for a unification with Saunders. So you are complaining about something that never happened.

No, your whole rant is simply because YOU think someone else should be at #1, despite the rules that are in place.

Bottom line is that if Charlo beating Heiland was good enough to make him #1 in the WBC, then Derev beating Johnson is also good enough
