I agree, Haymon's role is obsolete at that point, why would matchroom fighters who are being promoted and having their fights staged by their own promoter need to be advised by Al Haymon?

The audience is migrating my friend. They are cord cutting & looking at different options than cable today. If DAZN is giving Hearn $125M to throw some boxing on their platform in 2018 when they don't even have a platform in the US you can damn sure bet they will be giving Hearn or some other guy $200M+ in 2026 when this current deal is done & the platform has 2M or 3M viewers or w/e might be the case. This is just growing & this is an insane amount of money DAZN has invested in boxing. Even HBO during their peak 90's year weren't throwing $125M/year at boxing.

        What can Showtime do?

From my understanding Showtime has a budget of around $30Mish a year.

DAZN has given Hearn $125M per year. Might be giving Sky some money on top of that to show some Sky cards on DAZN. And if the rumors are true about DAZN picking up the WBSS 2nd Season that means DAZN is spending well above $125M per year on boxing.

This is big bank vs lil bank.

Although Haymon does have influence & I wouldn't minimize the importance on that with guys who may not sign with DAZN just cuz of their relationship to Haymon or trust of Haymon, but idk that Showtime can do all that much here. Showtime just needs to pay guys more & they improve their chances of keeping a specific guy who might otherwise be shopping for a new deal with DAZN or some other outlet.

Hearn's repeated the 50 cards out the gate thing again today. What do ESPN do, 2 cards a month? Same Showtime, HBO 1, if youre lucky. They'll be doing the same amount of cards in a month that the whole competition put together can manage.

I just don't see this working out for Hearn, hopefully i'm wrong. If Chavez Jr is a press worthy name then it's not a good sign.

If they put enough Mexican fighters on DAZN or put the right Mexican fighters on DAZN then they'll get Mexican subscribers. Mexican fans are the most loyal boxing fans in the US & they aren't all 55 year olds who don't know how apps or the internet work.

I remember in another thread on here some guy said that he didn't believe that Hearn was able to get truly top level guys and predicted that he'd end up signing "someone garbage like Chavez Jr." or at least something to that effect. Whoever that guy was: congratulations, you called it.

I'm very surprised Finially came out and said it. He is going after Al Haymon fighters. That's going to be a good match up.
