It sounds like Schaeffer hasn't really done much research on the guys behind DAZN. This is also not a boxing subscription platform, but just sports - and boxing comes as part of that.

Showtime haven't made a PPV fight not including Floyd since..... when? I actually don't know.

Respect to Gabriel & fair play to JCC Jr, but if Hearn's top 8 guys includes those two its a bad sign for their first shows & he'll have a lot of work to do still.

As secondary names Gab & JCC Jr aren't bad. And I will say I can see JCC Jr being spun back into a A list guy potentially...although I don't think I'd bet on that sh^t, but its possible with the right fights, the right motivation by JCC Jr (maybe the biggest hurdle) & the right "big fight" to try to line him up towards in the near future.

I saw Mikey on ESNEWS saying "they were some very interesting numbers".

Sounded like he was offered a good deal.

Come on.. Rosado is being brought in as an opponent.

This is a guy who Hearn brought in for Murray ffs. of course he's just fodder for Charlo or JCC or Brook or one of the other guys Hearn has in mind

I like Slick Richard, but lately he's been on some salty business. Not a good sign when the last few times I've seen videos of you you are talking about some other dudes business deal & I got no clue when your next show is.

Hopeful Slick Richard can turn it around eventually & be doing more videos about his own future vs other people's future, but its not looking all that great for him these days.

Dazn is great for people not living in the US and don't have access to watch certain sports. They get to watch US based sports along with PPVs. Here in the US, why would I want to suscribe to DAZN when I could flip the channel and watch MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and some soccer. Only sports I care to watch are the NFL, MLB, the NBA and boxing. I don't need a DAZN subscription to watch that. As for boxing, Schaeffer has a point, signing a deal to DAZN and Hearn could limit a fighters earning potential. Hearn could just do fight by fight basis, but I'm sure he wants promotional contracts to control a fighter.

Hence why I said he's a solid enough secondary name to pick up cuz he can B side & be the A side on a 3rd or lower billing fight type guy.

Yeah but the guys behind DAZN said it will take a few years to get where they want to be in USA. They have some serious investors and money behind them. They know boxing is a bit of a niche sport compared to others but were prepared to put big money behind it, so imagine what money they might offer up for rights to other sports when the contracts come up. When it comes down to it, there's no sentiment in business and if DAZN offer more money to get rights to other sports, then they will get them.

People said the same about Netflix when it started up, questioning why they would subscribe to it when they can watch movies and shows in many other places, now it has an insane amount of subscribers. The world is always changing, streaming services have taken over TV, Movies and Music and sport will be next. Whether DAZN is the platform to change sports viewing remains to be seen, but someone will do it.

If Eddie Hearn thinks he can just come to America and splurge money like the toff he is, he's in for a rude awakening. Some fighter's loyalty goes beyond money. Uncle Al's more than a name, he's a trailblazer whether you like it or not. Sometimes it really is about sticking to your own, as nationalistic and tribal as it seems.
Dude I'm LOVING PBC 2.0. I f#cking called PBC 2.0. I think Haymon dropped the ball or never had a real roadmap or plan b to success. Thus a new player enters. And if DAZN/Hearn drops the ball or has no plan B then PBC 3.0 will be coming a few years from now cuz boxing has too much money at stake & is completely takeoverable for a guy with the money, the plan & the structure to do so.

                    From July 2015
I think when something has reached such a low point you can do a lot of things despite how long its been around.

A guy signing 200+ fighters isn't normal ****. A guy pulling 8 or w/e TV deals isn't normal ****. I think a lot of the stuff Haymon is doing right now is some takeover type ****. If he can or can't finish the job is up for debate & will be decided over the next several years, but I think if Haymon doesn't do it someone else will learn from his mistakes & do it better next time.

Boxing has such a low barrier for entry, there is a billion+ at stake each year & its a huge cluster**** with 6 champions right now its ripe for a takeover, restructuring & resurgence by someone smart enough to do that.

Hearn is limiting earning potential by paying more money to guys???

Granted the PPV angle will limit the biggest names upside, but thats a couple guys every decade who are losing money & there would probably be more guys getting paid more under the level of those couple PPV guys so it'll all equal out & it'll have more fighters making more big money most likely, but yes less Floyd's & Manny's around.
