I understand the economics but Crawford , like any non PPV level boxer, needs exposure. I think it better that his fight be on ESPN rather than the app because you have more potential viewers.

Crawford didn't do well as a PPV "a side" against Postol. Crawford draws well in Nebraska but it appears to lack the personality and charisma to drive PPV sales as the "a side". ESPN hasn't done much promotion for this fight on its regular networks. I am sure that will pick up this week.

More money earned is better in the short term but a chance to have a dominant performance in frront of a much wider audience is worth more long term, right?

Manny also retired and lost his lineal claim and lost to horn. So it's up for grabs but since nobody fights each other I highly doubt we will ever see one for a while. Crawford if he wins would have to fight Spence and Thurman and I don't see those fights happening. Right now it's Thurman and Spence on top and Thurman has the edge imo.

Retired as in back a couple months later? Tyson Fury has been out for how long? Jigglypuff is the lineal champion ; I think its BS and suspect he cheated vs. Klitschko but it is what it is, same applies to Jeff Horn he got a BS decision but Crawford is the man and lineal champion when he beats Jeep Horn.

I swear I wanted to choke Fat Dan when he posted that. F-cking BS spin!

Crawford and Horn are earning 5-6 million between then. This had to go to the App. They would never recoup that money on regular espn. This way they will still lose money, but they at least are trying to build the app for the more expensive fights.

If Crawford loses he becomes a bum overnight. Pacman can say he was old and washed up but Bud is young and prime and Arum compared him to SRL lol.. this better not even be competitive.

i wouldnt even go as far as crawford losing. if he struggles just a slight, that's an automatic L already.

Why? I'm pretty sure I saw you recently saying Pacquaio could still beat Crawford, Spence, Thurman and he struggled with Horn. It was a close, competitive fight. I didn't agree with the decision but it wasn't a travesty either. If Crawford won say 9-3 then that's a loss and proof he can't fight but a 7-5 type fight for Pacquaio was proof he is still #1 at 147? Also factor in this is Crawford's first fight above 140 and Horn has been a champion for a year.

Is it possible you have a bias?

Is Horn really getting that much? From my understanding Crawford has been making around $1.4m per fight recently and Loma got $1.2m for Linares. I think they are earning similar but at the current rate I expect Loma to perhaps surpass since I think he's been promoted more and understand marketing himself better.
