I think Hearn will end up needing to establish himself in the U.S before being able to attract the big names. Right now, he's an outsider.
He doesn’t even need to establish himself. All he has to do is come here with the right attitude form a relationship with the right network/ promoter and he’ll be fine. Just like anywhere else in the world it’s all about respect.
But that ”I’m coming to America to take over and run it” attitude turns a lot of boxing figures off.

Negotiations take time. Armchair warriors will know nothing about contracts which isn't surprising at all. People here seem to think business is done in a day.

One good thing I heard Eddie say recently is fighters dont have to sign long term deals. They can do one off fights.

I understand that people were "excited" for the fight...like in the same way people were excited for lemiuex vs. stevens....you feel me? doesn't mean its a great fight though or either fighter is on the level of a Thurman, Garcia, spence etc

I think we were arguing that haymon, and all promoters, put on mismatches once in awhile with their "prized" fighters

I don't think whyte even classifies as a "prized" hearn fighter....

I’m surprised at that. I guess you were right. I didn’t think it was a good matchup but apparently others did.

Absolutely. It was just a good fight. Not a great fight and I never said that.

What I did say is on paper it was absolutely nowhere near the same level as Khan vs Le Greco.

I think the penny dropped for me when Browne came in looking grossly out of shape.

I knew then that Whyte would win. But also, I think most people got to see more from Whyte than they've seen before in this fight.

                      its not a horrible matchup

but its like putting in stevens and lemiuex...you know someone is getting knocked out...but neither is A level...or even high B level

stevens was beaten by D level club guys....hes entertaining but not good...lemiuex has shown what class he is by now too(others knew...some were in denial)

I think whyte/browne falls near that category...interesting matchup for sure....cause you know something is going to happen...but its not like were talking spence/brook here
