Lucas is a better fighter than Berto was when Mayweather fought him and Lucas is a world champion so that makes Mayweather's fight with Berto sadder than Pacquiao's fight with Lucas. Pacquiao scored good wins over Vargas and Bradley and got robbed in the Horn fight. He can still fight well and gets well paid. He isn't washed up like Jones was toward the end if he can still beat quality welterweights like Vargas and Bradley. He said he will retire if he loses to Lucas so he isn't kidding himself. Pacquiao isn't 40 yet so he is more than 10 years younger than Jones was before Jones retired.

How can you call him a champion? he was gifted a BS regular title that isn't real in any way shape or form. You know this and have often been critical of fake titles like this.

IMO this is a crap fight. it may turn out to be a great fight and I will admit it if I am wrong.

I also agree that I am not sure Manny is Roy level washed yet. I wouldn't pick him against any elite WW but I think he still has enough to beat a jobber like Matthysse.

PAC Man was on top for a while but has now definitely lost a step...does not look the same as of late and should really consider retirement at this point...when you can no longer knock out B fighters like Jeff Horn it’s time to hang up the gloves!

Pac needs to fight Lucas and beat him convincingly. After that, fight Crawford in your final fight and get Crawford some shine, a good pay day and a chance to pass the torch.

Pac should have fought Crawford 2 years ago because it actually would have been competitive. I think Pac is so passed his best that Crawford would come in as a clear favourite at this point and beating Pac wouldn't really get Crawford the kind of shine he should be getting and deserves.

Honestly, Pacquiao doesn't seem shot at all to me.

He beat Bradley and Vargas convincingly in 2016. He had a tough fight against Horn but I doubt it had to do with him being shot, Horn was simply tougher than anyone expected plus he had the size advantage.

I think Pacquiao beats Mattysshe unless Lucas lands something huge.

Lucas fought tooth and nail and lost a razor thin decision against a top 15 P4P guy in Danny Garcia. Should have gotten the rematch but didn't.

It's not even close - Lucas is currently, even at this stage, and has ALWAYS been a much better fighter than Berto, and it's really not even up for debate.

Talk about gifted titles - you should check out Berto's rise to the top..
