Comments Thread For: Cotto: Promoting is More Complex Than Being a Fighter

Future Hall of Fame boxer Miguel Cotto believes that, for him, promoting is even more challenging than fighting. The living legend retired last December with a 41-6 (33 KOs) pro record, in which he became the only Puerto Rican to capture world titles in four different weights classes, light welterweight through middleweight.

told yall that some fighters would rather not deal with all that other mess.

some fighters would rather just train and get themselves ready and let the promoter do all the other work.

cotto dont really run much except for in the 1st marg first and in the pac fight.

running would be like canelo against ggg when canelo went from ropes to ropes, one side of the ring to the other side.

bu bu but canelo was inviting ggg to the ropes!

I am hopeful that Cotto will be a good promoter as the years go by. He was very smart to partner with Golden Boy Promotions and deliver I think so far 3 or 4 cards in Puerto Rico since he signed with them.

If you look at the history of boxing their's honestly been really only one real success story to transition from fighter to promoter and that's Oscar de la Hoya. Mike Tyson, and other hall of famers flamed out.

I am hopeful that Evander Holyfield becomes a success and hopefully Floyd Mayweather will rally his stable and also become a success.
