    AJ-Wilder will happen this year

    according to Wilder. http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...ny-joshua-bout

Deontay Wilder believes a fight against Anthony Joshua will happen in either September or November this year and insists the match-up will definitely take place.

Wilder (40-0, 39KOs) defended his WBC heavyweight belt against Luis Ortiz in March while Joshua beat Joseph Parker to add the New Zealander's WBO strap to his existing WBA and IBF titles.

[If the two were to meet, the winner would become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000.

"If we have it [the fight] in England, it'll be September but if it's here in America then it'll be November," Wilder told Fight Hub TV.

"We're still in negotiations so I don't have a time frame on it just yet but I want to let everybody to know the fight will happen.

"If they're still serious -- we've been serious this whole way through -- Joshua said he wanted the $50 million and he'd sign tomorrow.

"We did exactly what he said and he didn't sign so that shows you his character already or his team's character.

"I think Joshua wants to fight but I don't think his team want to risk what they've invested. Their investment is about to go and they know it."

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn called for the Wilder fight previously following the victory over Parker, stating: "Wilder fight has to happen this year."

It will only happen if Wilder agrees to fight AJ in the UK. The fight will never happen in the USA.

                It's really up to Hearn.

He's well within his rights. AJ has is the proven PPV draw, having done it in the UK already. Wilder hasn't drawn a single dime on PPV.

Wilder needs AJ more than AJ needs Wilder. That's the beauty of Wilder using up all his free passes on so many cans - there is no goodwill left in the public view. He has to make this fight happen or the public will turn on him (well, those who haven't been on his case for years already).
