This past weekend in Canada, manager Camille Estephan had categorically indicated that it was David Lemieux's last fight at middleweight. He said his boxer would make the jump to the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds. Lemieux struggled to make the middleweight limit for a scheduled fight with Frenchman Karim Achour on Saturday. He came in two pounds over the limit and was docked 20% of his purse after being unable to get down any lower.

Ramsey is right, 5'9" is short for smw. Add his limitations defensively, and he's not Gonna get far in that division since everyone is way over 6 foot. If he was younger and could learn head movement, he could be very successful. But it may be too late for him.

If he was able to revive his career by adapting to his style m, it would be a huge boon for him. But that's a very tall order for most boxers.

I agree for Brant... The problem for Lemieux is that he's now actually seen as a gatekeeper at 160... A good boxer with amazing pop, average skills and far from perfect training ethics... He lost fair and square to 2 Belt Holders and got his IBF title mainly due to a lucky turn of events... Only way he would get a Canelo fight would be at catch weight and for nothing else than pride and that would be another loss to his resume... He should at least try a decent SMW and see how it goes...

If he implements a decent jab into his arsenal, Lemieux would be a contender. He uses hooks to shorten distance, gets caught with shots and tired in the process. Jab, jab while moving forward and then hooks.
