Linares needs to get back in the ring asap. He looked very good against Lomachenko, but he isnt getting any younger either.

Which means he is probably broken now.. he would probably quit every time.. I like when fighters fight thru adversity and pain.. once a quitter.. he will quit again.

What do you class as 'elite' then? Serious question. He wasn't far off p4p top 10 before the Loma fight. He's still one of the top 3 in the world at 135. That's better than 'solid'.

In my opinion there are only a handful of elite fighters atm. I am not like the ones to call boxers bum because of their resume like others who expect them to be filled with apparent "elite" fighters. Elite fighters are the ones who destroy the solid opponents. They are rare and few but they clearly stand above the other opposition. There is no shame in being a solid boxer who has his fundamentals right but to get on the next level is no easy task and should not be expected from everyone.

That 'weak spot'? It's called the liver, man. We all got one. Getting hit on it just shuts you down. Unless Jorges wants to get a hepatectomy there probably ain't much he can do about it.

OK, it sounds like your definition of 'elite' is P4p top 5, like literally around 5 guys in the world who qualify. My definition would be different, but that's cool. To me, elite would be p4p top 15 -20, like roughly the top 2 or maybe 3 guys from each weight class. Genuine world class, who could be competitive with anyone and not be outclassed, even in defeat. I would put Linares in that category. I have another category which is the absolute superstar creme de la creme winners, which by the sounds of it is what you think of as elite.
