  • Comments Thread For: Ramirez on Switch From Roach: Garcia's Young, Hungry, Motivated

Jose Ramirez is confident a younger, energetic trainer will bring more out of him. According to Ramirez, that's why he switched trainers recently, from Freddie Roach to Robert Garcia. Roach trained Ramirez for his first 22 professional fights and guided the 2012 Olympian to a world title in his last outing, a unanimous-decision defeat of Amir Imam on March 17 in New York.

Makes sense, but someone in here is going to call Ramirez a disrespectful ingrate for wanting to expand his horizons.

It’s a no brainer at this point why would you want to be trained by tick, even pac-girl switched and went with a trainer that isn’t a trainer , he went with the waterboy bublimp.

Always thought Roach would retire with Manny but boxing is probably what keeps him going and helps him battle the Parkinson's...

So you are guided from "infancy" to a world title belt and all of a sudden it makes perfect sense to jump ship to a "rival" trainer!!!

              Classic ingrate.

Methinks there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Would love to hear Roach of this story.

Oh and when is Prograis going to get his shot.

Garcia looks 58, Roach looks 65 due to his illness....both great trainers.

Who wouldn’t jump ship when you got the opportunity to be trained by another great trainer
That don’t happen too many times
I think Roach has had a good run but lately his fighter s not looking to good
                    So yeah fugh that
Garcia will bring something totally different to Ramirez s arsenal
Maybe then he’ll come out and play with the warriors
                    Lol
