Set boxing purses

Boxing should have set purses.

70-30 split with winner taking 70%.

That would allow all fights to be made.

Think this could be done?

You'd need more than just a win bonus basically doe (both get 30% + 40% to the guy who wins in your example). You'd still need a more tiered structured sport (as I often discuss) or some better breakdown of the various levels in boxing so we got a pool of more evenly matched fighters facing off thus cherry picking is of minimal upside or if you do keep cherry picking all it insures is you get put to higher skill levels faster & if you aren't the real thing you get outclassed badly eventually I'd assume.

But yea great idea & yea thats the way it should work.

I'm all for asses in seats helping guys make money I just think if you are putting asses in seats you should be selling merch at events & that should be how you see more upside from your fights & from your persona in general.

Set purses and a set structure on fighting ranked fighters depending on the number of fights you have. Once you have 20 wins with 0 losses it is Mandatory you fight a top 10 fighter. And it keeps going up If you continue to win.

So let’s say you’re an early-career journeyman with a 6-5 record and you’re contacted about fighting an Olympic gold medalist who is 5-0 with 5 first-round knockouts and 4 of them ended up in the hospital ... how big does that total purse have to be for you to want to take a fight knowing you’re going to only get 30 percent of that purse?

Nothing is gonna be 100% perfect thus we shouldn't try to steer things to a more logical destination? I'd argue against that if you are arguing for it.

Sure there are problems & if you changed things tomorrow some problems likely will disappear, but new problems will arise. Its a virtual given that would happen. But as long as we are moving in the right direction I think its the move to make. And to me I think people who win in a sport should be getting more money then the guy he beats.

Assuming the goal is to win in boxing, which at times I question myself cuz of how wonky boxing works with hyping those that put asses in seats & those who are in exciting fights getting the most attention.
