"how are these guys being licensed"?.............

He isn't getting stopped, so his medicals are in order and theres no
      issues with his activity.
Most of the long time "opponents" in boxing know their way around the ring very well. If their opponents come in and box without trying to kill him he'll just box right along with them and lose a decs.

I handled quite a few for an old time matchmaker in Conn.
They knew how to handle themselves but occasionally some young monster heavyweight will try to stop them not knowing this is the 6 rounder that you need to go 6 in!

His next fight is already scheduled after his loss today.

I think it's safe to say he's going to beat the record.

Its a shame a guy like this is licensed to fight. Anyone losing this much should have their license suspended or just revoked at some point. Only question is a matter of when.

I will say I do like how they matched him up. He's got a sh^t record so he's being matched with almost only 5 fight or less guys & many 1 fight or pro debuting guys. If you are allowing a guy to fight these are the opponents you want him fighting. In the US I feel like a guy like this could be fighting much more established guys & even some 15-0 or better prospects & fringe or better contenders which would be entirely bs matchmaking, but not untypical for US promoters.

I see people don't know about this guy, I read a book about UK journeyman (simply called Journeymen by Mark Turley, very interesting read, would highly recommended) and while offensively he's not really got anything going on, he's actually very good defensively, and it's allowed him to make a successful career out of losing fights to up-and-coming prospects. He's rated very highly by the others in his gym, overall he's probably better than most of the guys he's losing to, but he got robbed in fights early on fighting in the opponent's backyard, which basically put paid to a real successful run, but he figured out that he could make money as a professional journeyman instead.

He's in high demand because he gives rounds to prospects while still making sure they look good for the crowd, but without getting hurt so he can keep fighting week after week. They call him "Mr. Reliable" for a reason. And unlike the guys he's fighting, who make their money based on how many tickets they can sell, he's getting lump sums from the promoter's pocket. He gets pulled up in front of the BBoC every so often and grilled about his record but he just tells it how it is and they've got no choice but to let him continue. Honestly it's a pretty damning indictment of how boxing works as a business but hey, don't hate the player, hate the game. Scanning his record turns up some recognisable names if you know British boxing, guys like Derry Matthews, Tommy Coyle, Tyrone Nurse, Sean Dodd etc.
