After the WBSS we will genuinely see how good the monster really is. Can't wait!

Sure it would’ve been nice to watch Inoue mix it up in super fly, but he was apparently having trouble making weight. It was an astute decision to move up an give Inoue the best chance to be successful, weight draining runs counter to that. Inoue was a big super flyweight, I think he would’ve been too big for guys like Estrada and cuadras. Inoue and Rungvisai would’ve been a dream though.

Many will disagree but I don't see a great varied skillset. I think he's a bit of a one trick pony.
An aggressive counter-puncher, powerful with a very good left hook. I think if you take that left hook away there's not a great deal else there.
Constantly squared up, his chins too high, he hasn't much of a guard or defense just he's fighting bad opposition who aren't good enough to exploit his lack of defense and even offensive limitations.

He may overachieve with his power and opponent selection but I don't see a p4p skillset.
He's no Lomachenko, Spence, Usyk, Crawford, Gassiev, Rungsivai and so on
        What skillset does Rungvisai possess??

I got to say Inoue seems to shine when he steps up that's for sure -- not a lot of boxers wash their strongest adversaries in boxing.

Some people will suspect that Inoue is looking good vs. the right opponents under the right circumstances ( old, drained, past it)...and maybe they are right to think that, nevertheless the WBSS will solve that mystery.

Not going to lie I questioned Inoue desire to fight the best after his long dry run at Superflyweight, but hes growing on me. I like to see Naoya take the 'Super' title from that other fraud Brit Ryan Burnett!

is mcdonell considered a step up now?

Damn, that left hook is no joke! I was surprised McDonnell got up from the first knockdown by that left hook to the body. It was a beauty!

I could be wrong and I'm not saying he can't win he can certainly crack but I favour Tete to outbox and frustrate the hell out of him. I don't give him anything but a punchers chance in that fight.
And he ate two punches from McDonnell. I haven't followed Inoue at all, but I'm gonna assume that he will show more respect/discipline against a bigger puncher.

McDonnell felt that Power and wanted it to end quickly

Inoue is a special fighter and the hype is real! Next up the WBSS!

I always thought McDonnell was a little overrated, but this is to take nothing away from Monster. I watched the fight live and the FIRST shot he landed on McDonnell caused immediate stanky leg. Dude is legit.
