I can assure you that GGG is not ******. There are always opportunity costs and if GGG decides against this fight then there has to be an obvious incentive. No one here can truly know what other options he has. Golovkin does not need to pack up and do anything. He has to carefully see his paths, calculate risk-reward ratio and move forward. Let's not forget that Canelo made one of if not his biggest payday against GGG as well and recently GBP has hardly been doing well. As I said previously, there are other multi million fights waiting for him.

Golovkin lost a $20+ million payday because Alvarez failed a banned substance drug test. It's reasonable for Gennady to demand some compensation for that lost purse, but Oscar indicated that he doesn't want to modify the original deal to pay him. GGG should do what Wilder did when Povetkin failed his drug test...SUE!Comment

Canel will always be the "A" side when it comes to the financial aspect of it. GGG will have to have 10 more fights for the money he would be making fighting Canelo. Plain and simple! No discussion needed here for that. GGG afraid? Please Oscar no boxer is afraid to fight, you should know that by now. You sound like all the idiots that claim a fighter is afraid to fight some one!
Fighters are in the business of fighting, not on the business of being afraid! Some of these fans really take it to the grave that a fighter is afraid. If you say that is because "YOU DON"T KNOW ***** ABOUT BOXING!Comment

Yes, you can put it that way. But, I think Golovkin is justified in demanding a modification to the original deal. He went through all of that training and preparation for the fight. No matter how you cut it- whether tainted meat or actual intentional use, the responsibility of the cancellation lies with Saul Alvarez.Comment

Yup and remember it was GGG that backed out deal last summer after saunders agreed to all his terms only to see GGG lose his pen and not sign. It was also GGG who was given the option to fight saunders this year in June and passed to fight bum vanes. And just a week ago it was dirty Sanchez who said GGG is not fighting saunders next. If saunders wins his next fight he will get offered more money to fight canelo then cheap azzz GGG can offer and I'm sure Warren will much rather work with golden boy then GGG who has been a nightmare to deal with. GGG also owes IBF mandatory they might not even allow a unification. He fighting Dervy or some bum next book it.Comment

I agree that fighters aren't actually afraid to fight because they may get an ass whipping. I do believe that they may be afraid to fight certain opponents because a loss can hurt potential future big paydays. I think this is particularly true if a fighter's weakness is exposed and can be exploited by others.Comment
