I watched Tarver kick Roy's ass three times and win twice. Dude, Roy IS making excuses. He's saying he lost on purpose. Is that not an excuse?
By the way, Corrales lost to Mayweather on purpose because he hated his daddy.
Read the TRUE articles.
Roy never said that.
If you thought Tarver won the first fight, you need your head checked.
It was close, Roy took some punishment, but closed out the fight in the championship rounds.
After the second Tarver fight, Roy said, you know, he caught me with a good shot, and im not going to make any excuses because thats who i am.
Im going to fight again, and do what i do because thats who i am.
After the 3rd Tarver fight, Roy admitted he lost and gave his props to Tarver.

Jones said his dad was supposed to be the point man in the corner, while Merkerson would be his backup. Instead, Jones said his dad was "pushing Merk" out of the way during the fight and trying to get an assistant trainer he had brought along into the action and on camera.
As a result, Merkerson grew furious and then quiet, unhappily deferring to Jones Sr.
Jones said this left his head a mess: Why his father was causing conflict in his corner during such a career-defining fight?
"All he had to do was stick to the plan," Jones said. "We know now he can't do that."
Jones said he found himself fighting more than Tarver that night, adding that he lost the focus he had coming into the bout.
"People had no idea what was going on," Jones said. "It was something I never expected. My dad agreed to stick to the plan, and he didn't. When I came out after the fifth, I wasn't sure how to deal with it, but I knew my dad didn't deserve (any glory)."
Jones never said he purposely lost the bout, although that's how many in the media have interpreted his comments.
Tim Smith's article on the boxing Web site, SecondsOut.com, asserted that "Jones is saying he deliberately lost a fight to spite his father."
However, USA Today boxing writer Chuck Johnson attended the news conference and said that wasn't what Jones meant.
"The word 'fix' or 'threw the fight' never came out of his mouth," Johnson said Tuesday. "He was looking at the loss in retrospect and now could see the whole picture. He was dealing with so much on his mind -- mainly the sudden realization (during a big title fight) that bringing back his father was a big mistake -- and he just couldn't go out and put forth his best effort."
After coming out strong to take an early lead on the scorecards, Jones lost the final seven rounds during a unanimous decision defeat (116-112, 116-112, 117-111).
Jones' dad will not be in the corner for his upcoming bout against Ajamu, but his admission left reporters at the news conference with one final question: After such a long time apart and so much bad history, didn't he see this coming?
"He's the sharpest guy I've ever known in boxing," Jones said in defense of his dad. "If he would've just done what we all agreed to in the first place, it would've worked out for everyone."
are you for real dude?? this coming from someone who nuthugged tarver since he's beaten RJJ than starts dissing him and making threads dissing tarver. come on man get over it. the night after hops beat the hell out of your bf tarver you were on here saying how much of a whimp tarver was. get over it dude. you always take your crap out on RJJ. what would happen if they fought again and RJJ beat him?? what would be your excuse than?? im sure you would tarver bash your way to the bank more than likely and nuthug RJJ.
Chuck Johnson was the only writer out of about 200 that felt Jones was not trying to say he threw the fight. There was a lot more said, it was like 20 minute rant from what I heard.
the only reason i dont like roy jones is because he had the talent and the ability to be the number 1 fighter ever to step in the ring better then robinson , leonard, ali , hagler better then all of them but he choose to fight guys like eric lucus and david telasco instead
It was bad enough seeing Jones's incredible skills deplete so rapidly; but this is pathetic. Maybe he can't believe how quickly he went downhill. I hope he doesn't get hurt; but he's already in major denial. This is just so sad, it's beyond words.
I'll post on threads concerning Jones old fights or if I feel someone is so unadulterately full of **** that something has to be said; but this topic speaks for itself.
