Roach does not teach defense well! Ramirez wmas getting stung repeatedly by Imam! He's a good fighter, but he ain't all that, which is why he wanted to DELAY that fight with Prograis! Ramirez was NOT ready for that work! Bob Arum knows it too!

i disagree. most of roach's fighters are aggressive style fighters.

you can only teach and show an aggressive fighters defense to a certain extent. they will get tag because they're always searching and attacking.

its not like a "boxer" with great defense went to go train under roach for 2 years and then his defense completely sucks now.

i know roach works more on offense than defense but to say he doesnt teach them any defense is not true. guys like manny is more offensive minded than defensive so it doesnt matter how much you teach him he'll choose offense over defense.

he always had the right hook. roach just taught him how to use it properly and how to set it up. i posted an old video of pac training with buboy back in his "no fear" days and he was already throwing those 3-4 punch combos and right hook.

Well said! I look at it this way. GGG is aggressive but he's getting hit a lot more lately, since the Brook fight. I would not take him to Roach, to fix his defense. Linares fought a beautiful fight vs. Loamchenko, but when Lomachenko stepped on the gas, Linares couldn't adapt. I would not take Linares to Roach, to fix the problem! Broner is still talented, but he won't let his hands go! I would take Broner to Roach, to fix his problem!

agreed!! and i had actually brought that up when broner switched trainer. i said broner should have gone to roach. his defense is ok but he's just not throwing enough so it would be a perfect match had he gone to roach.

roach is good for teaching fighters on how to throw and set up their punches.

He never improved a critical part of offense which is cutting the ring, none of his fighters know how they just follow the guys around

Pacquiao would have been even more scary if he knew how to cut the ring off like duran or chavez sr used to do.

All pac relied on was his leaping left straight to catch guys moving back.

You know it alredy, roach telling the media manny isnt talking to me and never gave me a check is foul, he did that to gain sympathy he is a manipulator. Pacquiao helped him out enough roach should be content and wish him luck not for his downfall, roach got jealous that ariza was close with manny and getting praise, so he had manny fire him.

Now justin fortune is close with manny again, now roach will probably disown fortune again. Fortune said he always texts manny and manny always gives him positive words of encouragement since his bout with cancer.
