Comments Thread For: Is David Haye About To Retire From Boxing?

It's been all quiet on the David Haye front since his second defeat to Tony Bellew earlier this month. Haye, 37, was beaten convincingly by his British rival on May 5 at London's O2 Arena with the fight waved off in the fifth round.

He needs a new toe, and a healed Achilles’ tendon.
    He should retire.

His choices are to either retire or become the new Roy Jones. Time's up, hang them up.

Any money says Haye comes out of retirement starching bums to a title shot once cybernetic limbs become commonplace

It's a shame to retire on a loss but with David, His whole style was based on fast twitch muscle, explosive power and reflexes. All those attributes have diminished. His mind is willing but the body is not.

I'd like to see him crush a can and retire after as the consecutive losses to Bellew will leave a bad taste in his mouth if he does decide to retire now.

Whatever happens I wish him the best of luck and thank you for the exhilarating performances in your prime. Pre heavyweight haye was an absolute beast I'll never forget his demolition job on Enzo maccareneli.

When Bellew knocked your arse out in the first fight you had a valid excuse but this fight was a bad look for you. Malik Scott talked you up so much that I very nearly put money on you to do a job on Bellew. You have given a fighter relevance over beating you so it’s not all doom and gloom

He's going to beat up on a tuna can or two and then call it a day. No way he will want to go out being flatlined by Tony "Just want to get home to my wife and kids" Bellew

cos if he was about to actually call it a day, he'd be best placed not making an announcement - posting normally and letting people come to that conclusion themselves. He's not relevant enough where anybody actually is looking for him or cares enough about a grand announcement.
