Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Trainer: Dillian Whyte is Nothing Special, He Won't Win

German Caicedo, the trainer of heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz (28-1, 24 KOs), is confident his boxer would defeat Dillian Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) of the UK. Back in March at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Ortiz came close to pulling off a major upset when he had WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in a lot of trouble during the seventh round.

It great when people make comments without doing their research.

Dillian Whyte was actually banned for two years for his PED use and i can guarantee you that he's still juicing but just got better at hiding it...like his friend Anthony Joshua.

The UK Anti Doping Agency are a complete joke, far worse then USADA Testing.

What evidence do you have that White and Joshua are both juicing??
You said you can guarantee it so what evidence do you have???

Ortiz trainer is **** on the money, Whyte is a classic gatekeeper at best. Average in all facets except determination which he gets an A for .
Ortiz is much better but he needs to take his conditioning and nutrition as seriously as the British fighters now do.
He faded vs Wilder and lost a little focus, get less old school with the conditioning and he might have won despite his age.

It appears Whyte is going in the direction of Kubrat Pulev.

I would have loved to see how Whyte would have performed against good old Ortiz.

Yeah, I would have preferred Ortiz/Whyte. If not Whyte, I just hope Ortiz gets back in the ring soon. He is really entertaining again, and being active is the key to getting one more big money shot. He can't have too many more years left at the fringe "A" level.

This is a good fight. Whyte isn't great, but he brings a decent enough challenge for Ortiz to overcome. The big thing right now though, is to get Ortiz back in the ring sooner than later. Fighters his age cannot take extended breaks between fights. We just saw how badly that worked out for Stevenson. Luis does like to train though, like Stevenson seems to. So there's a plus.
