LMMFAO! Really, Tank is only winning because he’s set up w/fighters that stand in from of him, no movement. Loma would knock him out inside 5 rds, tops.
I like Loma at 135 because I want to see him and Mikey Garcia match up.
I think Tank Davis will probably end up in the 135 neighborhood at some point and I expect to see him fight either Loma or Mikey down the line.
I think Mikey at 140 against Broner made sense as a fun and interesting one-off, but I really prefer to see Mikey campaign at 135 where his power is more pronounced.
Even if Mikey can beat guys at the higher weights, I think it could end up looking a lot like Shane Mosley fighting middleweights back in the day. He'll definitely have success but if he stays at the lower weights he'll be a destroyer.
With all due respect, he didn't fight Berchelt or Machado. Since Loma is compared to Floyd is it fair if posters like me and others hold this against him as posters do Floyd with Frietas, Casamayor, and some other fighters Floyd is clearly better than?
The standard for greatness posters have set is you must face everyone good in the division or else you have ducked them. When this was said about Floyd I found it to be asinine and ******ed but despite me and others complaining that became the standard even though we all knew Floyd would have easily defeated these guys because he had already defeated better men.
As this thread moves along all I ask is posters hold Loma to the same utterly ******ed standard they created for Floyd.
When the inevitable "Loma ducked" threads and posts are created since he didn't fight Berchelt, Machado and Tank @ 130 make sure to call him a duck. Make sure to ignore the facts about why the Tank fight didn't happen and blame Loma. Pretend these fighters would beat Loma just for the sake of it. Call his going to 135 moving up to avoid tough fights.
Stay true to yourselves. Don't change now because it's a non American, or someone that you like, or someone that looks like you.
So instead of holding to the truth you want to engage in you did so I'll do it. Pretty much what is going on to the hundredth degree in politics too.
How about just being consistent in your argument and stop worrying about the other side? Despite what the fan boys want to think Floyd isn't perfect and Loma will not be either and I am not talking about records. In fact there is no athlete ever who doesn't have some flaws, even the greatest ones.

I want the standard applied to Loma by those posters. Is that too much to ask?
Good move by Lomo. TRUE boxing fans get it, not the morons on this forum who said he is ducking Tank & Russell. Like both of them have beat world class fighters in their careers to date. Just look at their resumes and tell me the great fighters they have beaten so far. Neither is very marketable right now. I actually think Tank will beat Lomo but not right not, not this year. And Tanks mentor and Promotor Floyd fought at around 125-126 as an amateur, came into the pros and initially fought at 130, and eventually fought in the 154 lb division. Tank is young and he will develop & mature into higher weight classes in the future. But he needs some names on his resume to make a fight with Lomo as marketable as possible. It’s a business too and Floyd knows that. Lomo actually did Floyd a favor. Tank can dominate 130 and become more marketable by unifying the junior lightweight division and then moving up and beating guys at lightweight like Easter, Linares, Flanagan, & Beltran. Then he can fight a Garcia and then Lomo. So Tank would unify his division by early 2019 and then move up and take a couple of contenders at lightweight. In 2020, Lomo & Tank are then a megafight that the sport will need if both keep winning. That was Floyd’s original plan but he seems to be rushing Tank now and I don’t know why. The problem is if Lomo beats Garcia & cleans out the lightweight division, he will move up again to junior welterweight & who beats him there...no one. Tank will always be chasing Lomo, but Lomo won’t be running. He will be chasing greatness.
