  • Comments Thread For: ESPN, UFC Announce and Outline Huge Multi-Year Deal

UFC(r), the world's premier mixed martial arts organization, and The Walt Disney Company's new Direct-To-Consumer and International segment along with ESPN, today announced the full scope of the historic multi-year agreement that makes ESPN-branded media platforms the exclusive digital and television home of the UFC in the United States, further expanding streaming rights to UFC on ESPN+ and building upon the agreement revealed earlier this month.

I’m not a fan of this ESPN+ app. All this stuff should just be on regular ESPN but they’re getting too greedy. Pacquiao/Matthysse & Crawford/Horn for instance should be on regular ESPN. We shouldn’t have to pay to see these fights. Some might say it’s only $5 a month but it seems everyone has this monthly streaming service mentality now where it defeats the purpose since you’re paying so much for all of them combined.

You're not just paying for boxing with the $4.99 subscription, you're paying for a TON of content. If you're a fight fan, you're getting 16 bouts a year from Top Rank, you're also getting some decent fights from golden boy. Now adding thos UFC package to the mix, it is an unbelievable bargain at $4.99 monthly. Not to mention all of the MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS games, as well as rugby and a other sports not so popular here in the US.

I mostly wonder what HBO will do. They were the leaders in boxing for decades, now Saddam Ali is headlining. Wonder if they'll counter this or just stop boxing altogether outside of GGG, Canelo and Jacobs

Only way this ESPN+ works if if NBA, NFL and MLB go there too. But can't see that happenning.

Doubt it sticks at $4.99 for very long.
