Im proud of our champion.. but atleast im fair.. I was pissed at him about 3 years ago when they first asked wilder to fight ortiz an he said no because of ortiz past drug use.. an later was talking about fighting Povetkin.. who also pissed hot.. meanwhile joshua was fighting Cornish or someone.. I wanted him to fight them all..an represent the us win lose or draw.. fury beat klitschko an challenged wilder.. which wilder accepted.. but then fury lost his marbles an started doing coke.. fast forward the tape.. wilder went to the u.k on his way to Russia to fight Povetkin..while martin and glasgow fought for the ibf.. parker worked his way up to face hughie fury for the wbo.. after two years.. joshua fought martin who was afraid of wilder.. klitschko returned and fought aj for the wba and ibo..who was also afraid of wilder and parker decided he would rather face aj than wilder.. once again the legitimate threat was left on the back burner.. now all you lames say wilder fought no one..bc they are the cowards. You dont know sh it bout boxing. Aj ducked wilder and ortiz.. true boxing fans know..Comment

Joshua was fighting him for the commonwealth title in his 14th fight less than two years into his pro career, looking to add that to the WBC intercontinental he won in his ninth.
Wilder didn't challenge for any belt until his 26th fight. He won the WBC in his 33rd, but it took 7 more defences till fight 40 to face a top ranked opponent.
Joshua has made five defences, adding 2 more titles (+ the IBO), taking the unbeaten records of Martin, Breazeale and Parker and beaten the man of whom Wilder's manager said:
“Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million,” Finkel said to the Tuscaloosa News. “It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect.”
That 'great prospect' had 33 fights under his belt at that moment and was older than AJ is today.
Those are the facts. That's the reality. Not the ridiculous piñata punching video messages. Not the bluster and shouts of bomb-squad. All the talk of unification and fighting anyone anywhere is just hot air compared to the reality that this guy has been more carefully protected than any current heavyweight. He's been nurse aided for 10 years in order to get to the point where credulous casuals can see a manufactured '0' and a highlights reel of 3rd rate journeymen getting KO'ed and get excited enough to to fork out 70 bucks for a PPV package.
Which is fine, this is boxing and Wilder's an entertaining guy and an accomplished athlete to watch no matter how technically flawed. But if your really going to be fair, you should acknowledge the disparity between the two men's achievements and the ambition and courage on AJs side which has put him firmly in the A side position.Comment

You sneer at Joshua for the quality of his opponent? For context, Cornish is indeed **** average when compared to elite level HW's, although he was undefeated at that point.

Wilder's best punch is the right cross. He really loads up on it at times, it's his favorite shot. Joshua turned when Klitschko would bomb the cross, now a few times he did nail Joshua but Klitschko has the best cross in the business at the weight class. Most times Joshua would be turning his head to the right as soon as his lead hand got tied up with Klitschko's nullify move, before the cross.
I say if Joshua can turn with Klitschko's cross, he can definitely turn with and survive Wilder's.Comment
