Makes sense I suppose if he's still a draw. I know he was but after his showing against Canelo I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure how loyal his fans are
I noticed Rocky Fielding liked the tweet. He's with Hearn, so that could be one too happen down the line.Comment

To be fair, it's a pretty good signing IF Chavez can stay active.
The amount of shows Hearn is putting on, he's going to need a varied and extensive roster of fighters of different weights and different levels. Not all of them can be elite. Chavez is still a name and people will watch him. Same reason Hearn wants Broner, he's never going to cut it at the real top level but people watch him and he can use their names to propel better fighters by beating them.Comment

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will return on August 4th/11th at 169lbs, then potentially sign with Eddie Hearn. Mooted opponents are Sergio Mora, Gabriel Rosado and Vanes Martirosyan. [@BoxAzteca7]

I like how its for a three fight deal. That would allow JCC jr to build a bigger name and portfolio then come back and fight on USA tvComment

NOT only this the type of contracts that hes been signing for haymon guys benefit them more then his promotion. For example danny Jacobs signed to him basically with a guarantee that he faces either ggg or canelo. This deal isn't much different. Hes going to possibly overpay for only three fights that could very well be done with in a year in a halfThis is an example of the type of tough sledding that's likely heading Hearn's way in going against the coalition.
Chavez Jr still has the name, but he's coming off a rough performance after not looking all that good but then on US TV.
Chavez Jr likely won't come cheap, and he's going to have to be handled with kid gloves until Hearn can get to the Callum Smith showdown.Comment
