"Boxing IQ" is not a very specific term...we have to be more specific...like I know guys who could tell you in 2 seconds the date of a Joe Louis fight from the 1940's...other guys know who every top fight is signed with and how much in purse bids all the major fights are going for. Guys know all details of PBC dealings, some know the win-loss records of all the major champions from the past 30 years. Other guys can break down fights really well, predict winners much more often than not, etc etc.

But for ME, just in my opinion, strictly for where I stand and what I think, when I think of a "boxing expert" I think of someone who can watch a fighter and see and correct the fighters mistakes can SHOW him what he is doing wrong and what to do to fix and plan out a strategy for a specific opponent.

So in reality you have to be very specific because I know guys who could tell you instantly who Joe Louis faced in his 10th title defense but could never in a million years show you in detail how to get more power in your jab.

There are definitely different aspects of intelligence and "IQ"

I agree with your post in general, Iceman. Most boxing aficionados tend to have a strong suit. But I wanted to touch on the highlighted statement. As a sports fan and someone who’s done their share of casino ********, I would say that people who can predict the outcome of fights (or any sporting event, really) with any degree of regularity, are very rare. There are so many variables in sports. And it’s perhaps worse in boxing, where bad decisions — if not flat-out corruption — make predicting outcomes a true gamble.
