    ali or foreman??

apart from ali's early fights these two fought in the same era during foreman's early years....but in his comeback he took on some of the biggest talents in the 90's

The question was who fought the better fighters and not if they won or lost to those fighters. Ali was much older than Foreman. Foreman was fighting guys as a young man that Ali fought as a much older man. Ali fought some bad ass guys like Liston before Foreman ever turned pro. And also Ali beat Foreman.

The both fought lots of good fighters but Ali gets my vote.

It's close, I'd say. Both fought A+ opposition as a whole. And Foreman got two generations. However, Ali edges him I think. Ol' George wouldn't fight Quarry and other fighters at the time. He'd duck and would admit it too, which I admire. Ali fought anybody and everybody and never ducked anybody to my knowledge. So I think Ali gets the nod for me.

                What?

Foreman fought the better opposition. Ali and Foreman shared most of the common top fighter names. The only person Ali has that Foreman doesn't, is really Larry Holmes.

                Old Foreman has:

-Michael Moorer (undefeated and fresh off a hot win over Evander Holyfield)
                -Evander Holyfield
                -Tommy Morrison
                -Shannon Briggs (lol)

Sure he lost some of them, but this is about who had the better opposition, right?

Also, Foreman stomped over Frazier and Norton. Meanwhile, Ali had arguably robbery wins over Ken Norton and even lost to Joe Frazier, but that has no bearing over this.

Plus, if I really wanted to make a statement, some of you believe Ali was the greatest. Well, Ali never and couldn't fight himself, but Foreman fought Ali, so technically he fought the better opposition (if you rate Ali higher).

Ali, this is not close. Ali took on the champs and top contenders consistently for about 15 or so years. Foreman took a lot of time off, and was very cautious in his matchmaking in his 2nd career when he wasn't fighting for the title.
