Comments Thread For: Jack: I Wasn't Hitting Stevenson Low; He Had His Cup Really High

Badou Jack doesn't think only two of the judges got it wrong Saturday night. The former two-division champion claims referee Ian John Lewis shouldn't have warned him for low blows, either. Jack thinks his body shots were perfectly legal, especially since Stevenson's trunks were pulled up higher than usual.

The ref was terrible. He was on Jack over every body punch but let Stevenson clinch whenever. He was also terrible about breaking up inside fighting, which sucks since that's where the best parts of the fight took place.

I'm not saying Jack threw no low blows, but the ref was way overboard and looked biased.

Jack got hit low 1x and returned fire low 2x. I don't see how someone can get out of that by saying his trunks were high.

Funny how everyone mentions the low blow but fail to mention the ref stopping the action everytime Badou got on the inside he also broke them up everytime Adonis was on the ropes. Adonis was also doing a lot of holding

im a huge fan of both, but fair is fair
badou jack should man up and admit his stuff
he was going low for nearly 4 rounds in a row and that helped him tire out adonis and bust his nose

the nose then was a huge problem bc he couldnt get his wind right.

im not sure i'd rematch badou jack if his strategy is to hit you low after u have just start putting pressure on him in the last 2 rounds

Adonis did have his cup high. Jacks punches were fine and Adonis was trying to sell them as low. Jack never really went to the body after the 6th and this took away his body attack. Better question, why wasn’t Adonis warned for excessive holding?

... right, Jack hit low in the first part of the match until Adonis got tired... I wonder why Jack didn't hit low in the second half either...
