If you can make the weight then fine. Both guys have to do the weight cut.
Do you have a problem with "weight bullies"?

I think it becomes really noticeable when the heavier guy is taller. I say this as a tall, lean guy who is much "bigger" than guys who weigh the same as me. Now, if someone like me is also draining down, it's a huge advantage.
I don't think I can scale it in terms of lbs and percentages but I always refer to the old boxing saying where if two equally talent guys clash, pick the bigger guy. People are raised on movies that romanticize the idea that the little guy can conquer anything. Yes, small guys often come out on top. But, not usually, which is why we love seeing it when they do.
As far as PEDs go, that's different in that they are usually helping you have a more productive training camp and you're not getting the direct benefit on fight night. Depending on what you're doing with PEDs, it might be larger or smaller. Some people even get worse off if they run a poorly thought out cycle or push too far because they feel stronger while they're on cycle (this really does happen). Weight is a direct benefit you carry with you in the ring. The two together can be a real monster though as PEDs can help you get that lean size advantage.Comment

I have a problem with the rules more so than the fighters who cut a lot of weight and make weight. They are simply following the current rules, and run the risk of being drained or lethargic and bloated.
Cases like Gatti vs. Gamache..or Castillo's trainer putting his foot under the scale to try to help him make weight for the Corrales rematch, then that's different.Comment

Are you the guy that made that remix of 50 Cent's "In da club" where you replaced the lyrics with Tunney/Freedom talking about his unabashed bias toward white fighters? I tried looking for the thread but couldn't find it.I have a problem with the rules more so than the fighters who cut a lot of weight and make weight. No, if they can make the weight, they can make the weight.
Secondly, this is a terrible fight to use as an example. Ali wasn't exactly a big guy at 147, let alone 154. He would've looked tiny against Liam Smith as wellComment

Absolutely. Same day weigh ins need to come back immediately.Seen a lot of comments on YouTube in regards to Jaime Munguia's win over Sadam Ali, calling him a weight bully. There are others in boxing who are considered weight bullies like Hurd, Charlo, and Spence as well. Do you have issues with fighters coming in heavy on fight night?Comment

Same day weigh in WITH hydration test should be standard all COMBAT SPORTS should follow (Boxing, Wrestling, MMA, Judo, BJJ, Kickboxing etc).
The concept of "weight bullies" would disappear.Comment
