If anybody remembers the night of the fight on the forums I was lucid over the ridiculous statements by HBO and by people on this forum who claimed Winky gave away the last round.
I felt the same way.
People were going on about how he didnt' win it as convincingly as they thought he should have.
That doesn't chage the fact he still clearly won the round.
other than a flurry in the middle of the round, Taylor really didnt do anything...i mean he didnt try even, save for 3 or 4 punches. Winky basically jabbed and stayed away, its not like the jabs hurt Taylor, but he landed them and kept him away/ backed Taylor up...isnt that some Ring Generalship?
youd think theyd both come out pumped up to make a good final stand, or at least ONE of them...but they did exactly opposite. weird.
i dont really know how theres so much controversy over it, it really doesnt seem all that hard to score to me...sometimes its hard to score Winky's fights tho, cause you really dont know what gets through and what is blocked sometimes with his tight defense. he almost never shows effect to the punches either way...

The times his head is snapped back, that's a landed shot.
When guys move him around by landing punches on the gloves, those don't count as punches in my book.
i mean partially connected punches, its hard to tell if they graze him at all or are completely taken away by his gloves. and some people have different views on how partial connections should be scored too, so that kind of adds to it

Wright looks like he's in survival mode when he fights.
And if you've noticed To the novice viewer who hasn't seen him fight before, and really isin't familiar with his tactics.....they think he's hurt.
They think he shakes his head at opponents because he's been hurt by a punch, and is being a smart ass. When they see him cover up and block a flurry and smile, they think he's getting his ass kicked.
Yeah, so um not true. He's just toying with people and in a way he toyed with Taylor. He knows every punch that's coming, and it really doesn't do anything if you know it's coming and can block it.
It's unbelievable how the HBO guys changed their tune in the last minute of the round. In the middle of the round Lamps even used the word 'abusing' to refer what Winky was doing to Taylor, and then in the last 15 seconds they start with 'he's giving Taylor the round'. Taylor never landed.
whoever said that i thought Taylor won? i didnt. its Winky's weird style that makes him fun to watch even if he aint no knockout artist, he looks like hes in a trouble position but hes basically just wearing the other guy down and frustrating them...thats his whole game.

why are you getting on my ass lol
Nobody claimed that you thought Taylor won, and nobody is "getting on your ass". If anything I was merely agreeing with the section you typed and I thought I'd further critique it.
If you flip around what you're saying, Taylor's guilty of what you just critisized Winking for doing, but to the tuen of two MINUTES and 30 seconds.
Taylor backed off almost the entire round, and landed significantly less punches.
Taylor won that 12th round. What did winky do in the 12th? oh i know moving away throwing lazy jab. He didn't even try to win that round he thought he had the fight won. Taylor may not landed but he was throwing hard punches which means if you know boxing that taylor in the 12th round was the busier fighter while winky look like delahoya in the tito fight. In boxing sometimes it doesn't matter if a fight like winky is blocking punches, a fighter can win a round even if he didn't land cause he was the busier fighter.

Starting to turn me on though with all of you kinky talk.
One thing people have to get to is that despite what compubox says in fight there are different levels of power shots. Like taken an Ouma fight for example. If somebody didn't know who Ouma was and just saw punch stats from a fight they'd be asking, "Jesus, how is his opponent still alive???" Score a powershot as a punch unless it clearly packed some more power behind it.
