Fighting pulev is obvious really. The way WBC works he would not only have to fight Ortiz then Breazeale , he probably would have to wait another year before they enforce a matchup so he would be waiting to 2020 or more likely 2021 for a title shot.

With fighting Pulev he would be guaranteed a shot by end of 2019 latest.

It's not a final eliminator, it doesn't secure him a shot at the WBC title next, it may not even guarantee him a shot in the next year as it took the WBC 2 years and 10 months to enforce Wilder's last mandatory shot. So if Whyte does beat Ortiz he gets a title shot maybe around sometime in late 2021, by then Wilder would be 35, hell he might of retired by then.

The WBC are obviously taking orders from Haymon. Wilder asked Whyte to fight Ortiz a while ago for a shot at him and now the WBC order an eliminator, coincidence? I think not.

Also remember they did this to Tyson Fury too. He fought Johnson in an eliminator and won. Stiverne and Arreola fought the other eliminator and the winners were meant to fight for the vacant title, but instead of giving Fury a vacant title shot with Stiverne, they for some reason gave Arreola another shot despite losing the eliminator.

Fury after winning that eliminator never got given a final eliminator or a title shot despite his high ranking with the WBC. He waiting 2 years and they never game him a chance to fight for their belt or even earn a mandatory, they took their cut from the Johnson fight and then turned their back on him. So Fury fought Wlad instead.

Suffice to say Whyte won't ever get his shot unless it's put down in writing by the WBC by giving him and actual final eliminator. Which is why Hearn is pushing for the Ortiz fight to be made a final eliminator and not just some made up 2nd final eliminator which in reality could mean anything and the WBC could change their mind saying a 2nd final eliminator isn't a real final eliminator just another eliminator.

How can the champion of champions duck an ordinary Ortiz that just got his first title shot few weeks ago? AJ has defeated 2 champions and strip them of their belts, defeating a serial champion in the process claiming another belt along side.
If your senses were right and you claim to have been watching boxing for a while, you will know no fighter holds 4 belts with ducking people like Ortiz.
Ortiz has never and will never be a HW champion.

I keep hearing that Ortiz has skill and power. Where are the belts to show for his imagined "skills" and "power"?

I really would love to see the Ortiz-Whyte fight but C'mon that fight is rubbish as long as it is not a final eliminator bout.

I also agree that the decision to make Breazeale the mando for Wilder should be appealed. No one knows the way of the WBC 'nymore... Has Sulaiman told the boxing publics the reason Breazeale emerged the mando to Wilder? Something must be happening under ground.
