Y’all are arguing over 5 bucks. You don’t need to subscribe every month. Just cancel when there’s nothing good on.

Streaming will end up costing more, watch. But you are right, it's not going away.TV is a dumb idea and it will fail very shortly.
you pay 150 a month to watch programming that's approximately 15-20 minutes of commercials and marketing per hour?
a football game plays for 15 minutes of actual gametime, and the broadcast is 3 hours?
believe me, it's not streaming that is going away
i pay 10-15 a month for netflix and it blows my TV selection right out of the water. if i wanted a really comprehensive TV package i'd be paying close to 200 a month. righ tnow i get fast internet, basic cable, hbo and showtime, and it costs me 150 a month! and you still watch 15-20 mins of ads for every hour of TV you watch does that sound nuts to anybody else?
Cutting the cord seems all fine and dandy, sounds like a great idea, until you actually do it and realize you're paying almost the same.
I cut my cord a long time ago, and use streaming services. But here's the thing:
High speed internet is needed for streaming, that is around $50-$60 per month.
Then let's say you have Netflix (4K) and Hulu plus like me, that's around $20 or so, idk how much.
Then let's say you have a TV streaming service like DirecTV Now, Hulu Live TV, PS Vue, Youtube TV, Fubo TV, etc. The basic service is $40-45 for around 60 channels for all of these, DirecTV Now offers and extra $55 (85+ channels), $65 (105+), $75 (125+ Starz).
On top of that, you do not get HBO, Showtime or any premium channels included in that price, that is an extra $10-15 each or so if you want it.
Now let's add these rogue channels, that are going away from their parent channel and making an individual stream where you have to pay for, ESPN+ for instance. You were able to watch boxing on ESPN in any of those streaming services, but not anymore, now you have to pay an extra $4.99. $4.99 seems innocent, it's chump change, especially if you have a good salary. But what happens when other companies follow suit and a program you use to like watching, is no longer in the original channel, but now it's a stream of its own?
Let's put the math together for all of this, $50 for internet, $40 for basic streaming service, $14 for Netflix (premium), $8. $112, now start adding all the little extras like HBO, Showtime, ESPN+. It adds up.
This website says it better than me:
At the end of the day, if you're cutting cable to save money, you may not see much improvement after you subscribe to one of these services -- especially if you opt for a step-up channel package or feature.
Now if you're just a Netflix + some streaming channels type of guy, you will obviously see a big improvement in cutting cord.Comment

no it will not.
look at the cost for the vendors. you claim to be an accountant, right?
where does comcast lack most? customer and after sales service. when was the last time you battled on the phone with netflix?
what element of spending and organization do they have that netflix, hulu, etc do not?Comment

I can afford the money but I don't always want to watch a fight at my house.
Sometimes I want to go out to a bar and watch or I might have to go out with the wife or family and want to watch while out. Restaurants and bars don't have the app so I can't watch fights. That sucks.
SHO has it right-fight is on their regular cable network and on the app. This way fans of all ages can enjoy access the fight in the method they most enjoy.Comment

I envy you guys for having espn+.
I'm not fully in the know which fight cards are shown, but espn+ is improving the availability to watch international fights by a mile, right?
You get the Warren cards, some Japanese cards and didn't they broadcast farmer vs dib? Crawford? Top ranks fight library?
Possibility to unsubcribe easily, for 5 dollars? AwesomeComment
