    Tony Harrison improved his record to 27-2 on Friday night with a split decision victory over Ishe Smith in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight headlined a Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV tripleheader that took place at Sam's Town Hotel and ******** Hall. Smith was coming off a competitive decision loss to super welterweight contender Julian Williams this past November.

            Harrison was outboxing him and was ahead at the time of the stoppage. That said, you sort of got the feeling that Hurd was going to get to him eventually. I seem to remember the fight was supposed to be 10 rounds and then became 12 once there were title implications. Had it stayed 10 rounds, maybe Harrison would have tried to stay away for a round and a half and eked out a close win. We will never know because there will never be a rematch and Hurd is even more dangerous now.

                  It was a 10-rounder and Hurd stopped him in the 9th. You did see Harrison fading, just like Lara! Sooner or later, most likely @ 160, that strategy won't work for Hurd! Taking too many head shots! It's exciting for us, but in the long-term, it won't be good for him!
