The thing with Hearn is that he has definite money available for a good few years, which is going to be appealing to fighters, it means they can get paid and stay active too, which builds their profile more.

PBC overpaying basically means they're going out of their budget and they can't keep that up. Anyway, half the reason they can overpay is because a lot of the PBC fighters don't fight that regularly. If Spence was fighting 3x a year, they wouldn't give him that money.

Arum only goes one way though. Any fighter from any other promoter who has to fight one of his top names has to fight on a Top Rank card on ESPN. He could careless if they will pay more for a fight on another network, fights has to be on his terms on his network period. Arum will work and send over some low tier fighter to fight on another promoters card that isn't ESPN though. Big reason why Mikey/Loma won't happen anytime soon. Arum would expect Mikey to take some low ball offer to fight on ESPN only while Mikey has said he can offer Loma more money to fight him on his card that will get them paid more.

It doesn't really hurt Haymon to pay that much as it's not his money he's using but the foolish investors that sunk money into the fund. If anything it benefits him to pay his fighters more as he gets a percentage of their purse.

You have to give Haymon credit for the business model he set up. Convinced investors he was going to save boxing, lol. Get almost a billion dollars and use that to buy TV slots, pay boxers inflated purses, sign fighters up promising them PBC slots with these big purses, so he gets a percentage of each fighters purse. Even if the show loses money it's not loss to him as it's the investors money that is used.
