Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo-Golovkin II Will Be Bigger Due To Animosity

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Mexican superstar Saul Canelo' Alvarez, expects the rematch with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin to be much bigger than the first meeting - because of the increasing animosity between the two fighters.

Then I hope Clenelo stands like a man now and fights toe to toe. No more running. If he is so angry, then stand still and exchange hooks.

He would be a fool if he did. He needs to throw more obviously but standing in Golovkins wheel house is dumb.

Spoken like a true crackhead Oscar
Clenenlos popularity has taken a hit in the USA
They know nothing about any controversy in Mexico, they don't know he's been banned from boxing.
Yet, the extra animosity will make it a bigger event...ok then

This guy should stick to balloon animals as a means of communication

They have to do it NOW though, not next May. The hype will fizzle out. They got a grudge match on their hands which usually equals $$$$.

Who could've imagined that when he was battling it out with Whitaker, Chavez, Hopkins et al his future would consist of fishnets, heels and shoving kitchen utensils up his jacksy. What kind of coke does that?

“He wants to keep proving that he’s innocent to keep proving that it was an innocent mistake". if that's true, then why wait several months and until your back was against the wall to finally agree to take year round vada? By the time this gets done, Canelo will not start testing until some point in June, which is basically the same as regular testing before any other fight. His reluctance to sign up for vada sooner along with him not even bothering to attend the hearings from nsac all look suspect for someone who's supposedly desperate to prove his innocence.

Canelo stops GGG in the rematch. I’ll bet money too. Put the PayPal accounts up.

You got yourself a wager. we just need a reliable middle person. Someone who will take the money beforehand, take a little cut for themselves and then give the winner their take.

I got Golovkin will not be stopped straight up. Willing to wager up to $300 given the situation.
