Why didn't Crawford fight Linares when he was at Lightweight?

Crawford only solid wins at Lightweight were "Midget Featherweight" Gamboa & Beltran. He never asked or fought Linares who was the King at Lightweight for the last 4 years.

So he didn't fight Linares. So what? Mikey never fought Linares either so why aren't you complaining about that? Crawford would have been heavily favored to knock Linares out if they had fought. Crawford has lots of good wins and deserves the respect he gets. No matter what excellent champion is talked about someone can always come up with some good fighter he didn't fight. In today's boxing with network feuds and promoter feuds and boxers only fighting twice a year no boxer can fight every good fighter near his weight. It's impossible.
