Comments Thread For: Lomachenko 'Open To' Linares Rematch; Arum Calls Talk Premature

NEW YORK Vasiliy Lomachenko is open to a rematch with Jorge Linares, but his promoter cautioned that it won't happen next. The lightweight championship bout between Lomachenko and Linares definitely was competitive and entertaining enough to warrant a rematch. Bob Arum, Lomachenko's promoter, still plans to match Lomachenko against another opponent August 25 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Easy money. Loma wins earlier against Linares next time. Would rather see Loma with Beltran who is a come forward attacker. Then fight Mikey, who should fight Linares after he beats Easter.

Linares is 32 and I think the best calls for him should be moving up to 140 and fight the champs there. His speed and size is ripe for the weaker division because his venture at 135 is of perhaps finished UNLESS he beats Easter and take him back to the conversation. The 135 always had been about Lomachenko-Linares-Garcia as Easter/Beltran are considered the weaker link, and unless Linares secures a victory over a champion at 135 there's not much he could do there as the champs would be trying to fight Lomachenko, and I bet Linares still has something in the tank that he could still be a champion at 140 or even a unified one.

Loma has to take the rematch then fight Beltran and Garcia all in the same month otherwise he's a coward hype job.

The haters are already pointing out for Loma to fight Anthony Joshua or he’s a cherry picker.

Don't let Linares anywhere near Prograis or Mathysse. He's getting stopped IMO

Loma needs to fight Linares again who deserves an immediate rematch, then fight Garcia vs Easter winner then fight Tank Davis and then he can fight Pacquiao and then Beltran and then if he hasn't lost again he should move up and fight Usyk to see who's the best of Ukraine!

A fighter on a 6 1/2 year win streak who loses to a smaller man, with a body shot stoppage doesn’t deserve a rematch by default. It would be a good rematch but Loma should be moving on to bigger fights.
