Even with all that, Sadam Ali barely won. If Cotto would have not torn his biceps in his left arm, he would have won by decision. Absolutely.

Cotto was practically shot and he clearly got hurt. He would have lost to anyone.

He was done and had been for a while. He'd been carefully matched for a few years even before his absence from the ring and dined out on beating a crippled Martinez. He could still be competitive a few years ago but would ultimately lose to very good fighters, then eventually end up losing to the likes of Ali.

Retired at the right time really, probably 1 fight too late but hindsight is 20-20...
