  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Lomachenko Will Return 8/25 at The Forum; Opponent TBD

NEW YORK Bob Arum knows when and where Vasiliy Lomachenko will fight next. All that's left for Lomachenko's promoter is to sit down with the newly crowned WBA world lightweight champion to choose his opponent. Arum confirmed following Lomachenko's 10th-round technical knockout of Jorge Linares on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the three-division champion will fight again August 25 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

that's not a bad idea. Beltran is a champ. Maybe that's why Arum was able to announce a date so quickly?

Id have thought so. Arums been saying August for a while, then another big fight at the end of the year

Arum said Lomachenko will return to headline another Top Rank Boxing on ESPN card on Aug. 25 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Before Saturday's fight, Lomachenko said he would remain at lightweight and give up his junior lightweight world title. If he sticks to his plan, he probably will face Raymundo Beltran in a lightweight world title unification fight. Beltran (35-7-1, 21 KOs) won a vacant title in February.

"Beltran is the obvious opponent," Arum said.

hard to call, since he can fight both divisions 130/135. we'll see what they decide

I like that date. Should be Beltran and that sets up the possibility of a unified lightweight champion.

                  Good times.

Beltran in L.A.? BRILLIANT! Bob might be evil, but he's an evil genius! I think a rematch vs. Linares at The Forum would be even better!
