Linares didn't quit but he did get knocked out. Linares is a brave champion and not in any way a quitter.

Right. And then Maidana proceeded to bend down in which case the ref could've waved off the fight. My point is that saying Linares quit is reaching. The guy was badly hurt and to say he quit because he bent down is ridiculous and is probably coming from a lazy keyboard warrior who's never boxed.

Doesn't matter, he got up quick, ref asked him if he was OK, he nodded and replied verbally. He held his hands up indicating he could defend himself.

That is what the ref needs to allow the fight to continue.

Linares did not do these things. He may have wanted to continue but didn't show enough, because of the pain he was in.

Maidana was badly that is some crazy courage to get up from that.
