Did Jesse Vargas get this much praise for stopping Ali?

People are really jumping the gun on this Muniga guy.

For starters, he beat Ali, the weakest champ at 154... Saying he would beat Hurd, Charlo is scared, etc is ludicrous. Saying he would've been competitive against Golovkin is even funnier.

Pump your breaks people. This guy is no Jarrett Hurd or Charlo. Hurd just beat the schit out Lara, Trout and Harrison.

Charlo has a similar resume at 154, but not the bigger names as Hurd.

But yeah, I wish Jesse Vargas got this much credit.

He didn't just beat Ali, he squashed him. I see comparative fights for Jaime against Hurd and Charlo.

154 is a tough division. Ali wasnt gonna last very long against anyone apart from a shot cotto....even the bums would be tough for ali.

I knew Ali was a weak champion who beat a sub par Cotto and would lose to the first good fighter he fought. I think Smith would have also beat him. The Mexican beat him in a very impressive way and he has a great record. I am high on him and I won't slow down and put the breaks on. I give him a solid chance to beat anyone at 154, Hurd, Lara and Charlo included. He hits with great power and accuracy with both hands. I won't bet against him against any boxer his weight. I am not saying he beats the top guys at 154 but he sure is in the mix in my opinion.

No, I don't remember Jessie Vargas getting anywhere near this much praise when he knocked out Sadam Ali.

I don't think so, and Vargas was the underdog I believe.

However, it took Vargas like 9 rounds while Munguia pretty much had the fight won 1 minute in
