WBA Superfeatherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera will defend his title against Ricardo "Rocky" Juarez this fall. In their first fight, Barrera walked away with a narrow split decision victory in a life and death struggle. Possible undercard fights include Israel Vasquez-Jhonny Gonzalez and Jorge Barrios-Joan Guzman.
I personally thought a rematch was unlikely because of how tough the first fight was. I am picking Juarez by late KO or decision because I truly believe Barrera to be finished. He was looking impressive against pedestrian opposition like Robbie Peden and Mzonke Fana, but Juarez's youth and otherworldly punching power will be too much to overcome this time around. I think Juarez will start a little earlier, apply more pressure, and sap what Barrera has left.
