I thought the fight was getting good and Linares was right there with him.

But that was a well placed liver shot by Lomachenko just when he needed it.

Anyone who says he quit has never taken good liver shot and has probably never been in a boxing ring.

This thread is terrible. Linares was hit by a beautiful liver shot, which made him fall and he had difficulty getting back up. The red was well within his right to stop it but no way did Linares quit.

Its harsh to say he quit because the body shot was perfect and obviously very painful. Well done to both of them and i wouldnt mind seeing it again.
Well said, this wasn't a quit out of frustration as we've seen in the past, although I think if Jorge wanted to continue all he had to do was stand up straight for a moment. He was pretty exhausted & looked kinda deflated in that 10th round when Loma got his groove back & was tagging him with all those combos. Vasyl never tires & believe that's also very deflating to opponents. That finishing left to the liver was brutal. Loma so quick with his up-down combos.

Linares gave a good account of himself though I had him down by two points 6-3 plus the KD. He was really timing his shots well & definitely made it a fight with that straight right in the 6th. Loma slowed down & was much more cautious until that cut opened up, then he got his mojo back. Knew that was it unless Jorge caught him being overconfident again running into another shot. Lot of skill in this fight, the size difference was very apparent, but so was the speed & no need for me to see a redo unless Loma runs out of top competition. Perhaps after Beltran but hope the Garcia fight happens.

Exactly. I don't think Linares is a quitter at all.

Liver shots are the worst, there's not much you can do. The body just temporarily shuts down and no amount of heart or willpower can override that physiological mechanism until it plays itself out.
