Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko suffered the first knockdown of his professional career on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. But he recovered to secure a tenth round knockout of Jorge Linares to capture the World Boxing Association lightweight title. A straight right in the sixth from the Venezuelan floored Lomachenko, who seemed shake and stayed away until the round was over.

Both times Loma has been in trouble, it was body work.

So basically, if Tank's heart holds up, he's at least a threat.

I think that kd was the best thing that coulda happened to loma...he seemed a bit overconfident and was believing his own hype. That let him know that you can't play around with the top guys...especially going up in weight.

He walked right into it and his feet wernt set as he said he got too relaxed and now he’s learned his new lesson and won’t get that complacent again, it was basically a flash kd I don’t expect it to happen again.

"But he recovered and then came back with a crippling shot to the lover to send Linares down."

            That's gold.

                That was a beautiful shot
Could see the pain in Linares’s face as he’s going down
Just well timed and perfectly to the liver

A "crippling shot to the lover"? Why are they still talking about Ward? Anyway, Loma looked more embarrassed than hurt by the right hand. Live and learn, it was a great punch in a great fight.

Loma doesnt need to go through these fights without being touched, or he wont be ready for guys like Garcia when the time comes. Linares is a very good fighter and Loma still had his way with him. That says a lot.
