What I would like to see happen at 135 the rest of the year

First of all, what a fight tonight!! Just outstanding action, beautiful boxing and executed at such a high level by both fighters. Incredible drama with both guys hitting the canvas and a late stoppage on a body shot. IMO, this was the best fighter south of 135 beating the 2nd best fighter at 135. Both guys reputations are elevated in my mind. Don't listen to the idiots on this site that will try to play off Linares as a bum and therefore Lomachenko a bum as well for getting knocked down by him. BTW, I had the fight even going into that 10th round before the KO.

Anyways, on to what I think is a realistic potential outcome at 135 for the rest of this year that I would like to see occur.

Mikey Garcia vs Robert Easter Jr unification is finalized.

Linares comes back from the tough defeat by being awarded a title eliminator by the WBA, probably against Evens Pierre or Daud Yordan based on their current rankings.

Lomachenko takes an in house fight and unifies against WBO champion Ray Beltran.

Garcia/Easter winner takes one of their mandatory fights, either Richard Commey for the IBF or the winner of Luke Campbell/Yvan Mendy 2 for the WBC.

Winner of Lomachenko/Beltran takes on winner of Linares eliminator fight.

This could all be done in 2018 and set the table for a complete unification fight at lightweight, most likely between Mikey Garcia and Vasyl Lomachenko in a fight of the decade type matchup. Let's get it done boxing!

(BTW, I've said since Garcia KO'd Zlaticanin and looked like Mikey Garcia again that I though he would be too big and too much for Loma, I still stand by that, but want to see it settled in the ring.) WAR BOXING!

Lets keep it simple, Lomachenko vs Garcia is enough for me.

It never is this easy though. Garcia sounds like he's all but set to face Easter and Lomachenko probably needs a bit of an easier fight after that battle tonight. This also takes care of mandatories coming up, so one unified champ doesn't get saddled with a million at once being forced to drop belts and it also keeps Linares right in the mix to get another shot after he proved his worth again tonight.

Sounds like Garcia/Easter is all set for July 28, so the first part of the consolidation of belts should be in affect

I think it will be Lomachenko vs Beltran either next or after Loma fights a Mando. Loma-Garcia/Easter winner tbh I can't see happening there'll be too much backroom B.S to make it happen

Loma should definitely stick to Beltran before he attempts a chance at Mikey. Infact I think he needs another year before he has enough experience.

The WBA does not have a mandatory fighter right now and has not ordered an eliminator yet, so Loma should be clear to fight whomever he wants for now. Beltran just makes too much sense not to happen next imo. I am also worried about the past between Arum and Mikey potentially scuttling that fight against Lomachenko. Would be a shame if that happens

Like what your saying but why not have a unified champ fight another unified champ? Not sure why you want to see Loma Linares again if it leads to that instead of Mikey/Easter vs Loma/Beltran winner.

If that ever plays out this year the undisputed champ at 135 is easily fighter of the year 2018

The reason I had it in that order is due to the 2 mandatory's that are due or scheduled to be due soon. Don't want to see a situation where the unified champ has to immediately vacate a belt or 2, like what happened with Fury and the IBF. It would be easier for Garcia to get a unification out of the way first and gives Linares, who showed he deserved a rematch imo, another shot at Loma. Then whoever comes out of the unification should only have 1 mandatory to deal with.
